Structural Project Portfolio - Retail Facilities
Some of the retail projects that we completed are shown below:
Radcliffe Center, Towson, Maryland
Designed one story shopping center with 40,000 sq. ft. area. The roof framing included a steel joist and joist girder system; completed in 1993.
The Avenue Market, Baltimore, Maryland
Modified the existing structural framing to allow large windows in load bearing walls. Also, designed a new ground floor slab that varied in elevations from 0'-0" to 8'-0"; completed in 1996.
Greenspring Shopping Center, Pikesville, Maryland
Modified the existing roof framing, by removing a load bearing wall and introducing steel beam and columns. Also, provided Structural Details for the Front Facade at the Atrium; completed in 2001.
Revitalization of Brooklyn Park Shopping Center, Brooklyn, Maryland
Modified the roof framing to allow large spaces for tenants. Also, provided underpinning details for load bearing walls; completed in 1992.
Dumbarton Square, Pikesville, Maryland
Provided modifications to the existing shopping center, including an office floor at the second level. Modifications included "removing load bearing wall, and providing new steel beams/columns". Further, provided "construction sequence" to keep all businesses running; completed in 2004.
Town Center, Ballston, Virginia
Provided modifications to the existing shopping center, which included a new elevator and a stair. This required modifications to second floor and roof framing. The joists were cantilevered with the "bearing from the chord with a web member"; completed in 1996.
Cromwell Field Shopping Center, Glen Burnie, Maryland
Designed "new support framing" to existing exterior load bearing walls, to provide a new storefront; completed in 2008.
